Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Younifyd (“we”, “us”) runs younifyd.co, a networking platform for entrepreneurs, student founders, professionals, mentors, investors and co-working space owners. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), account type and, if you give it, your mobile number.
- Profile details you choose to add: photo, summary, city, date of birth, education, work experience, company, skills, languages, what you’re “open to”, and your answers to the founder questionnaire.
- Things you post: updates, opinions (comments), co-founder posts, job posts, co-working listings and their photos, applications and their notes, connection requests and their notes, and your availability windows.
- Messages you send to your connections.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, when you were last active, and server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) used for security and fixing errors.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your personal data.
Visit counts. To understand how many people use Younifyd, we count page visits with our own analytics, which run on our server. We don't use cookies for this and we don't store your IP address. Each visit is counted with an anonymous code made from your IP address, browser and a secret that changes every day and is then deleted, so the code can't be traced back to you or linked across days. We store only that code, the page, the website that sent you, whether you used a phone or computer, and whether you were signed in. If your browser sends “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control, we don't count you at all. Visit counts are deleted after about 13 months.
Invitations. If you gave us your email address at an event, on our waitlist or through our community, we may send you one invitation to join Younifyd. We keep your email address (and name, if you shared it) only to send that invite and to see whether you joined. We never send reminders. You can unsubscribe with one click, and we then keep your address only on a do-not-email list so we never contact you again. If you don't join, we delete your details after six months.
2. Why we use it
- To create and run your account and show your profile and posts to other members.
- To connect you with people and opportunities (suggestions, daily matches, search, co-founder and job matching).
- To send you service emails: email verification, password resets and, if you keep them switched on, notifications and a weekly summary.
- To keep the platform safe: preventing spam and abuse, handling reports, and enforcing our Terms.
- To fix problems and understand how the service is used in aggregate.
We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you create an account. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account.
3. Who can see what
- Your profile, posts and listings are visible to signed-in Younifyd members.
- Your email address and mobile number are only shown to your accepted connections, and you can hide them in Settings & privacy.
- Messages are visible only to you and the person you’re talking to. Younifyd administrators can see how many messages exist, but not their content.
- Members you block cannot message you, connect with you or see you in search and suggestions.
- When you view someone’s profile, they can see your name in “Who viewed your profile” for 30 days. You can turn this off in Settings & privacy; you then appear only as a private member with your member type and city.
4. Service providers we use
We share data only with providers that help us run the service, and only what they need:
- GoDaddy: hosts our server (Singapore data centre) and our domain.
- Resend: delivers our emails (it receives your email address and the email content).
- Zoho Mail: runs our hello@younifyd.co mailbox, where encrypted backups and messages you send us are received.
Some of these providers store data outside India. We use reputable providers and limit what we share with them.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings & privacy → Delete account), we permanently delete your profile, posts, opinions, messages, connections, listings and uploaded photos straight away. Encrypted backups are kept for up to 14 days on our server and in our backup mailbox, and are deleted on a rolling basis.
6. Your rights
You can:
- see and correct your information at any time from Edit profile and Settings & privacy;
- delete your account and data yourself, at any time;
- ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, or raise a concern, by emailing us;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, hash passwords, limit login attempts, keep the server firewalled, and encrypt backups. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
8. Children
Younifyd is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and tell members by email or on the site.
10. Contact and grievances
Questions, requests or complaints about your data: hello@younifyd.co. We aim to respond within 7 days.
